Round 2 of the Coppa Italia was run at the MotoGP circuit, Misano World Circuit.  As with Round 1 the weather had its role to play with changeable conditions affecting the weekend.  On the Friday the team had found a good setup for ‘The Engineer’ with grip levels increasing throughout the day.  However on Friday evening the clouds gathered and heavy rain showers ensured that the extra grip provided by the rubber laid down during the practice sessions had been completely washed away.

This had a direct impact on ‘The Engineer’ in the 1st qualifying session on the Saturday morning, struggling with low grip level and not managing to lap faster than 1’47.949 placing him in 9th after the 1st session.  The weather would play another big part in deciding the grid as the heavens opened and the rain came down 15 minutes before the 2nd qualifying session.  This essentially decided the grid positions as no improvements to session 1 lap times were possible.

Starting from 9th on the grid, back of the 3rd row Yas29 made a good start crossing the line in 6th after 1 lap and was in control of his position and slowing making inroads on 5th position but disaster would strike on lap 5 when ‘The Engineer’ suffered a mechanical issue and had to retire from the race.  After retiring it transpired that the throttle control had worked itself loose and Yas29 was unable to accelerate with this issue.
